TYT The Young Turks have come to the conclusion that Trayvon Martin is ‘Clearly’ inside Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs game. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian are convinced this was intentional and could be malicious in nature because a NPC is named ‘Kavon Fortin’ and is a black man wearing a hoodie.

In this commentary, we take a look at recent statements by Ubisoft. In an interview with Polygon, Ubisoft let it be known that the gaming industry is headed towards always-online connections for games whether gamers like it or not. But Ubisoft is convinced that you will like it, and will even want it in your future games.

The idea of creating open, living worlds is becoming not just a Ubisoft direction, but an industry one. “I think you’re going to see more and more projects going down that road in the years to come. I think even the console manufacturers are going down that road.”

And with the rise of “living worlds” will come a need for persistent online connections, something Gerighty believes will become the technological hallmark of the upcoming generation of consoles.

How Realistic is Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Facial Recognition Technology?

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is getting a lot of attention from gamers who have been excited about what they’ve seen so far with the game. Part of the excitement stems from next gen graphics – some from the story line – some from the open world of Chicago. But I believe part of that excitement also comes from the fact that the futuristic Chicago that has been shown in the game……isn’t very futuristic at all……it’s already here.

In this video, I discuss one key type of technology that has been shown off in Watch Dogs. Facial Recognition. Just how close are we to having the ability to recognize strangers on the street by looking at them and having their bio pulled up?
